  • Colonel Tom Parker Office / Elvis Presley Wardrobe Closet

Name of Lot: Colonel Tom Parker Office / Elvis Presley Wardrobe Closet
Brief Description: The original cedar closet from the lower level of Colonel Tom Parker / Elvis Presley’s Management Office in Madison, Tennessee. The small office complex housed all things Elvis Presley’s career management from 1955 to the early 1980’s. The complex would become storage for numerous pieces of memorabilia, including Elvis’s famous Nudie gold lame’ suit, until entire artifacts acquisition by Elvis Presley Enterprise in the 1990’s. When EPE purchased the artifacts of Elvis’s career, from Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’s Nudie gold lame’ and other wardrobe were in this very closet. In more recent years the complex became a law office. The property eventually sold to make way for a car wash several years ago and was systematically dismantled by preservationist / filmmaker Brian Oxley.
Shown is the cedar closet re-assembled at Johnny Cash’s Hideaway Farm in Bon Aqua, Tennessee. This component with other artifacts are now being sold to parlay funds towards an Elvis Presley documentary. The closet is original in entirety, with exception of some photos adhered to the doors during the dismantle process.
Included with the purchase are two books documenting the dismantle / preservation of the entire complex. Additionally there are several Youtube videos showcasing the office complex before and during the dismantle process. The estimate reflects the historic value. To duplicate this closet today would cost no less than the stated estimate. This tremendous historical artifact would make for a unique focal point in any music collector’s home, man-cave or restaurant. Dismantle and pickup is the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer will have 45 days to remove.
